I have a lot of shortcuts on my desktop.

I have a vistax64 forum shortcut and a Sevenforum shortcut on my desktop, and they both look alike, except the text label underneath.

How about giving them each a different logo so I can tell one from another at a glance ?

Try Googling images for each forum, and you will probably find something that you will like. I would also suggest using a browser that has SpeedDial, so that you don't have to clutter your desktop with shortcuts.

Right click the short cut icon click rename.

Put Vista on Vista. W-7 or sevenforums on the sevenforums shortcut.

Icons may be the same but you won't confuse the name that shows.

It would be easy enough for you to right click on the shortcut, properties, change icon.

Find or have a GFX person make something you prefer.

I'm in the "don't use shortcuts on your desktop for websites" camp. That's what Favorites, Bookmarks, etc are for.

you could create hotkeys for them , shortcut properties /hotkey and type the number or letter you want
7forums could be ctrl+alt+7
vista forums could be ctrl + alt + v

and changing the icon from properties works also ,though it has to be an ico file ,not a png

The OP can just add the url's of these forums as a switch to the browser's shortcut and click it and have these open automatically.. :geek:

i think when you drag the favicon to the desktop it shows as a firefox icon(in my case ) and not the sf favicon icon
but that can be changed in properties.
