Hi there,

I have a Packard Bell easynote LJ71 with a AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile M500, 4GB or RAM and an AMD m880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200. I think the graphics card is integrated. Anyway, back to my plan, it was to add another screen or two. Firstly do you think my laptop could cope with it, I won't be gaming with it, probably browsing, word processing, possibly programming and maybe google sketchup. I have a VGA port and an HDMI port on my laptop. Hope you can help and sorry if I have posted this in the wrong section, couldn't see where else to put it! Any help much appreciated!

You should not have any trouble driving an external monitor with your ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200. But why 2 addl. monitors for your kind of applications. Sounds like an overkill.

I dunno, just luv big screen sizes and with browsing, skype, word proccessing etc. I don't really enjoy having to flick through them all. The main question is could I connect one screen with a vga port and the other with an hdmi one? Thanks for the reply, very helpful!

Not sure whether you can run 2 monitors out of the 2 attachments - never tried that.

I have run 2 projectors with one of my laptops. But there I use a Y cable to split the line.

Ok, I have one vga output, two monitors with vga inputs. I want to create an extended screen, is there any splitter that I could buy that would accomodate this? Thanks for any help!

With the splitters I know you would just replicate the same screen. I have never seen one where you could project one screen picture on 2 monitors.

Just to say, extra monitor via vga works perfectly. However, I can't have the external monitor and an hdmi through to my tv. It favours the vga so I have to unplug the vga to get a picture on my tv. Well, it now means i have two screens which isn't bad!
