Hello guys, Fairly new to comps i bought new card for updated games and the PNY Verto gt220 does not read when i install it ie..fan does not spin. My old 8600GT works no problem, any tips on what i should do?
Sounds like a possible bad card if the card doesn't have a 6 pin power connector. Is this the card? PNY Reason I say this is if the fan won't spin up then your not getting any power to your card. If you have dual PCI-e slots try the other one. If the same thing then I'd get a hold of where you purchased it for a RMA or exchange. JMO. Fabe

If your other card works then I would start an RMA contact the retalier if newegg you can still problably just do an exchamnge or maybe some others. Otherwise I would contact PNY and start a claim. Fabe

I'm on my third GT220. The first one was like yours, not detected and the fan didn't spin. The replacement worked but the fan was noisy and occasionally didn't spin. Third times a charm I guess as the last one has worked fine for almost 6 months now. Mine were made by BFG. As mentioned the type of RAM on the video card has no bearing on compatibility with your motherboard. The memory controller is built into the video card and only the video card has access to that onboard memory. Does your current power supply meet the minimum requirements for that video card?
