Just got a pop-up that I really dislike from Windows corp today

They reminded me that win 7 is going to be abandoned on jan 1 2020 I think the date was.

So what Windows version is going to be comparable that isn't spyware and is bitlocked???

I've also been even thinking about linux more and more these days. Which is worrisome cuz I don't have the time for terminal....

Checked this boobtube video out. No, it's not mine but it's giving me a really intelligent analysis on what to expect if I do change over to 10 in terms of the spyware that MS is forcing on us.

With a small amount of effort this area is easier to control than most people realize on win10. You start by installing Wumgr and disabling auto-updates and just do them manually yourself, or not at all. Then you run a couple of the programs on this link:
6 Free Tools To Disable And Stop Windows 10 from Spying And Tracking You
to turn off the spying features you want. There is an enormous amount of user-coding that has gone into these programs and they are much more thorough and easy to use than in years' past.

If you don't want to receive the EOL nags, you can uninstall update KB4493132 (assuming you installed it and that's why you got that pop-up).
