kaspersky is a very very nice AV, get the kaspersky antivirus 2010, combine it with superanti spyware and malwarebytes and your protection is complete, prior to getting KIS I had eset, when I scanned with KIS I found 4 additional viruses, so I would highly reccomend getting KIS (Kaspersky Internet Security)

If you have enough common sense regarding your browsing habits, Kaspersky is likely enough, but there's always the free version of SUPERantispyware just in case.

In 2 years of use, all SAS has ever found were tracking cookies. But MSE found a few trojans - maybe those were false positives. Who knows.

As well as your Kaspersky Anti Virus I would recommend you use SuperAntiSpyware. Their support IMO is excellent & they run an informative Forum.

to answer the original question: yes, Kaspersky Anitvirus is enough.

I've used Kaspersky. I speak from experience.

That said, I now use Microsoft Security Essentials because a) free, b) excellent c) the end-user version of Microsoft's Forefront program which is the enterprise (large customer) antivirus software from Microsoft, d) easy to install, use e) non-intrusive.

I've installed and/or recommended its install to many contended and pleased users.

I have MSE, Malwarebytes and Defender. Maybe its the combination of the three, but I think that I am very secure. I would not want any other software using more precious resources. Some of this software protection is as bad as what they are protecting you from.

You might want to consider disabling Malware Bytes program - which is excellent- and only running such if you have unusual behaviour. I also use Malware Bytes, especially when someone brings me their computer with a problem. No matter what the problem, I first run Malware Bytes Antimalware.

I also use Windows Firewall. You no longer need to use Windows Defender since you've got MSE running.

You are, of course 100% correct about MSE and Defender. Defender in reality is turned off by MSE, just misspoke.

KIS is better with Super Antispyware.
Scan in safe mode with Malware Byte antimalware after update it.
The better way to have a clean OS is to change AV time to time:
Norton,Bitdefender,Nod32,Avast 5..
Microsoft Security Essentials is very good+Outpost Firwall Pro..
