Hi,

After running an update check today I was prompted to install KB3011970, even though it's already installed.
I couldn't find any other threads about this and don't get why it needs downloading/installing again (no reboot was required).

My update history now lists KB3011970 twice, one for the 9th and one with today's date. Can someone tell me what's going on with this patch?

Many thanks for your help.

The original update was pulled and has itself been updated after problems with the original - they may have released the new version already.

Hi NoelDP, thanks for getting back so quickly.

Thanks for letting me know about this - I'd read the update had been pulled but thought it was usual for re-released updates to have different numbers to the originals.

Only if they've had to make significant changes to it - the KB number itself is set at the beginning of the project, and can go through a number of iterations in release (most of which aren't noticed by the end-user).

Thanks, NoelDP. :)

That's for MS Silverlight and you can find the Kb number have not been changed because its part of the name program (Like MSRT that have n° KB890830 every "Patch Tuesday").
Check your installed updates in Program & Features and you will find the MS Silverlight v5.1.31211.0 is the newest.
