atm sorry for posting it here i actually posted the same topic on vista forums but no one seems to reply well i just wanted to know that how to remove vista from double booting with xp:sarc:
please reply thanks in adv.

So, if i understand you correctly, you are saying, you need to remove Vista and install XP

boot in xp, then format the vista partition.
restart and boot from xp install disk
go to the repair console and when you get to the command line prompt, type fixmbr
vista is gone...
 
yes i want to remove vista and leave xp not reinstall
and my xp cd does not have the repair thing what do i do?

:(looks tough i think i'll stay with vista until my brother screws his xp or has any reason to reinstall xp.i wanted a simple way not so complicated :zip:

Dude, its just step by step instruction, thats it, or the simple method is , if you have a Bootable CD of XP, install it directly. thats it

On the Vista Forum you stated you wanted XP uninstalled...here you state it's Vista you want uninstalled...which one is it ? ?

Post back a screenshot of your full Disk Management map from Vista. We can advise you the exact steps then.
 
If you still want to get rid of vista, I already posted how to do it earlier in the thread. The fastest way is to boot to XP and erase the vista partition, then restart using your xp install disk to reinstall the xp bootloader. To do that you have to select the repair option from the disk, and the command FIXMBR will finish the task. Otherwise, a simple, clean install of xp will also do the job. But if you don't have an XP install disk I wouldn't even know where to start. Good luck

Why don't you kill both OS's, install 7 as a clean format, and move on? XP is dead, and Vista is . . . somewhere.
