Hi,
I have currently made a backup of my files using the integrated backup program in win7 but I now need to perform a reinstall of the OS (I want to move up to x64).

Would the new installation pick up my exist back up or will I have to start it all over again (this is nearly 1TB of data here!)

Thanks,

As far as I know, the new install will be just that. New install. However, You can use the easy transfer and it will move things like your settings, documents, music etc. You will still have to reinstall some programs but a few will be transferred.
