Keeping W7 up to date after January 14, 2020 - possible?

Hey all. Sorry if this has been covered...

I understand MS will no longer update the OS, but will the latest updates remain avail?

Say I build a W7 machine in Feb, using the disc I have, which is several years old. Will I be able to use WinUpdate to up to the latest vers?

Ms have kept updates available for previous versions for a long while. Vista updates are still available. Probably be the same this time.

A lot of businesses will be using extended update period for the next couple of years, therefore you can expect software manufacturers to keep supporting win 7 for at least another 2 or 3 years.

In addition, there are packs like Simplix which won't suddenly disappear

I read somewhere something called Opatch appears to be very promising. Time will tell.
