hey guys

ill just get straight to the point, this seems to be a prittty common error on widnows 7 at the moment however there seems to be little information on ways of soliving it. the problem is that my computer randomley restarts for no reason. when i look in the event view it says kernal power error and reads 'The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.'

its really strange i had this problem around christmas time last year and then it stopped but now it seems to be bk with avengence. last time it was doing this i replaced the cpu update all the software drivers etc, but it just seems to be doing it for no particular reason. i even took it into a pc speicalist who had no idea why either. my computer has plenty of cooling so its not overheating, its surge protected etc.

i was hoping that anyone out there could help shed some light on the situation

This error is not your problem its just telling you that the pc did not shutdown correctly you need to look at the error in event viewer before the critical error 41.. Let me know!!! :)

Submit your crash dumps for analysis from C:\Windows\Minidump, if you have any .dmp files in there, and please follow BSOD posting instructions as outlined in the sticky thread in Crashes and Debugging.

Type it into explorer's address bar, C:\Windows\Minidump, if you haven't had crash dumps the folder should be empty.

Are you sure your'e not running xp? - If youre running a ATI graphics card install the Expertool from Radeon and right-click the icon after installation to view the eventviewer in the tool..Take a screen shot and upload it..

I think your overheating,,check your temp status in your bios and if the cpu temp is over 50 degrees i'd say -new thermal paste is the way to go...

ok sorry ive been away for abit but let me give you an update of what ive done since i made this post.

1)ive upgraged my case which has plenty of cooling so that should be an issue
2) ive replaced my heat sink which has halved my cpu tempurature ( turns out i was overheating)
3) did a clean install of windows 7 prof 64 bit
4) updated all my drivers

and these random restarts still occur. im really not sure what to do next, has there been any attempt to solve this issue? ive tried looking everywhere

my computer has recently since i reinstalled windows given me a minidump, how do i upload it for you guys to look at?

You can attach your .dmp's with your post by clicking "Go Advanced".

Your hardware looks to be the problem then, stress test it for errors to show:

hmmm its telling me its an inviald file how odd. my friend seems to think it could be a combination of my ram and motherboard but i took my computer into a spealicist around march time and he swapped the ram and the same problem occured. i will run stress tests and see what happens
