Hello there I recently installed Just cause onto my comp ( I know its an old game!)
and started to play.Within a few minutes into actual game play the computer crashed with a blank screen the screen was green( I think) and a constant buzzing sound was coming from the speakers. The only way you could restart the comp was by holding in the power button to turn the damn thing off!

Once I had logged on again I lookend into the event viewer to see what the hell just happend,it turned out that the following was the details:

I checked to see if my graphics card driver was the newest,it was and that I had the required Directx to play the game (Directx 9.0c) i have Direct x 11.

MY OS is windows 7 home premuim (64 bit)

I had also realised that many are having this sort of problem i would be very grateful if anyone can help and i will do as much as I Can through the power of 7 forums to help as well.

Right-click on the program, and select Properties. In the Compatibility tab, tell it to run in compatibility with XP.

Well, I Googled for your error, and I came across this page: Iam having Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power crashes

In summary, try updating your BIOS, updating your sound card driver (Realtek, right?), and checking your power supply. Perhaps it is not powerful enough?

Try searching for your motherboard here: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

BTW your motherboard is what you put down for Manufacturer, so that would be ASUS P5N-D

If you trust me, and want a direct link, rather than navigate through that site, I have attached the file to this post. Otherwise, the link is above.

The event info in your first post normally means one of two things: first, computer stops responding when going to sleep, during the sleep or waking up from sleep, or second possibility is a hard reset, rebooting without shutting down properly.

Because hard reset is what you told you had to do after the crash, I think we are looking the wrong event entry; IMO this entry is about your hard reset, not about what caused the computer to crash in the first place.

So back to the event viewer, what are the events just prior this one?

View attachment 53562My harddrive is 500gb Matrox STM345004 18AS SCSI Disk device so im gessing the brand is Matrox

The problem is getting worse this time the computer rebooted instead of crashing but it still made that click/pop nosie I personally dont think its the hardrive because would a harddrive shutting down make a noise like tht ? the attach ment is a mini dump file i think if not let me no

Richard, referring to your PM to me:

Open Event Viewer. Click Custom Views, followed by Administrative Events:

You'll find the events in chronological order, together with a brief summary of the chosen event.

Hope this helps.
