I'm running an MS Digital Media Pro Keyboard (wired, PS2 connection) in my 64bit Win 7 machine. The qwerty keys work ok but the hot keys, custom keys, and the media controls will not work. When I go to the MS driver download site and install the correct drivers for a PS2 type of connection, the message comes up that this software cannot be installed because a later version of the USB driver is already loaded. I don't have a USB keyboard, I have a PS2 connection keyboard and nothing I do so far can fix this. I can't download the corrrect driver because it tells me that a later driver is already installed but for the wrong type of keyboard, and it advises me to plug in a USB keyboard. If I uninstall the current driver it is automatically reinstalled when I reboot. I'm stuck as to how to fix this. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Would it not be easier to connect it via USB? From what I can find about that keyboard it is native USB and connects via PS2 using an adapter.

Actually, MS says to not use an adapter for a PS2 connection. But I've got to confess that I found that I had done so and when I used a USB extension cord (My keyboard is far enough away from the computer) the problem went away. I had not seen the PS2 adapter way down under my desk and didn't realize it was there. So I have the native USB keyboard as you mention but had hooked it up wrong. Mea Culpa! Sorry to exercise everybody for my mistake!
