I recently purchased an HP pavillion with Windows 7 installed. Everything works well; the keyboard that came with the pc is a 109 key MCIR.
I prefer using the IBM enhanced (101 or 102 key) so I switched for a Dell USB keyboard.
Windows control panel still indicates 109 key MCIR but the HP support assistant software sees the 101 - 102 keyboard.
I have tried this keyboard with my wife's HP notebook running Windows 7 and it works fine!
any suggestions?

Uninstall the driver for the keyboard in Control Panel and uninstall the keyboard then shut down the PC and cold boot with only the 109 connected and see if that works out.
