Dear,

I am using the Windows 7 Beta 7100. My kid play games and now my Key Board is no longer respond (to type) and the Number Lock light is Green. I could not do anything to turn it Off (number lock). The PC is working fine, by using the mounse.

Is there a shortcut key i can hit to get the control back on my Key Board?

Also if i click on the shortcut icon, normally it will open the application or folder, now it is open the Properties. How do i fix this problem...

Thanks

Hi and welcome to sevenforums

7100 is RC1 not beta (beta=7000). We need to get your system specs (lower left corner) to know abt your hardware. Are you running 32 bit or 64, clean install or upgrade?

I am using the 64 bits and it was a clean install. I am not home right now but I believe it is 7100. It has been running for months... and the keyboard just lock off yesterday after my kid play games on that PC...

OK if you unplug and plug does the green light stay on? If you reboot does it stay on?

Still would like to try it on another computer

Disable virtual keyboard

The same thing happened to me but I was able to fix it!!

My laptop with Windows 7 and Google Chrome has a virtual keyboard option. I noticed an icon in the extreme upper right hand corner of my Google Chrome window, next to the Google Chrome tool incon, that was a small box with a letter K in it (virtual keyboard). I "right" clicked this icon which gave me an option to "Disable." My actual keyboard was immediately restored. You may also find a solution by clicking Start-Control Panel-Appearence and Personalization-Ease of Access Center. Hope this helps.
