keyboard question

I am having a problem with typing in a question mark I get the capital E with the tick on it. also with other symbols they are giving me some foreign launguage. I have checked in the region and language it shows English US. other than that is has french and so on. I have windows 7 sony vaio....ty

I checked the bottom of my post and stumbled upon the link below and hoping it will work for me...thanks anyhow
