This is a minor bug and I can correct it easily, but I'm curious if anyone has it.

When I click the thin button at the far right of the taskbar (what is that called anyway? it's the new 'show desktop' button I guess), and then click it again to restore all my windows... I cannot type in the current window. I guess even though it's the front-most window, it's no longer 'in focus'.

With firefox in particular it's annoying. In other apps, I click on the app's window and it's fine. But that doesn't work in firefox, I must click the firefox taskbar button to minimize it, then click it again to maximize it. Only then can I type.

Any fix?

No I don't think so Pusspa, I wasn't seeing that either (Windows 7 Pro x64) but then I started experimenting (having other active windows before peeking, minimized vs. maximized, other variables) and Firefox sometimes would become inactive as described.

The weirdest one was having Outlook be the active window, peek, unpeek, hitting spacebar opens the Start menu, peek, unpeek, hitting spacebar skips to next email in Outlook, peek, unpeek, hitting spacebar opens Start menu.... and so on back and forth. I'm at a loss...

For my edification, do you have the same problem if you:

Hold down WIN key
tap the spacebar to view the desktop
Release the WIN key when you are finished "peeking"

Hi karl,

Oops. I meant show/hide desktop, not "peek":
The weirdest one was having Outlook be the active window, show desktop, hide desktop, hitting spacebar opens the Start menu, show desktop, hide desktop, hitting spacebar skips to next email in Outlook, show desktop, hide desktop, hitting spacebar opens Start menu.... and so on back and forth.
But yes it works fine when peeking using Win+Space.

the win+spacebar thing doesn't cause it for me. I figured out that I can get keyboarding in firefox to work again after I restore any other window and then return to firefox... I tried maximizing firefox to goose it but it doesn't have any effect. If I try keyboarding in an explorer window (e.g. arrow keys to highlight files, or alt+F4 to close) it will only work if I click the background of that window. Clicking the title bar doesn't bring it to life.
