Your choice ...

Erase Hard Disk. DOS Command Line Mode

Depending if you want DOD standards, etc.

Any reason why you want to wipe your drive, since you will be using it over? Generally I wipe my drives if they are going to be surplussed.

I can understand your concern. However, I would be more inclined to run a chkdsk on the drive to make sure there are no bad sectors, or indication the drive is failing. After that, at most, I might delete and recreate the partition. If you have drive concerns, there are more exhaustive hard drive tests. But I would not use killdisk in this instance.

Is there anything wrong with using killdisk to reinstall windows 7? Also, how can i run tests for chkdsk? I'll give you errors i get..

Nope, nothing wrong with running it at all. Just something I wouldn't do. But it's fine.

As for checking your disk for errors:

Check a drive for errors

Mind telling me why? Also, i can't run that, i'm stuck at boot mgr missing, press ctrl+alt+dele, can't start it up, although it lets me do a test somehow on my hard drive, it says short DST failed.

because my old windows 7 stopped working, i get bootmgr ctrl+alt+dele, so im deleting everything on my hard drive and installing new one, thats the right thing to do isn't it

No, the correct thing is to try to repair it first. troubleshooting steps

Then if necessary reinstall by booting the Win7 DVD, choosing Custom install, deleting any partitions not needed to create new, format and Install. Or just format the C partition. Clean Install Windows 7

Wiping the HD is overkill, meant only to overwrite data securely so it can't be resurrected.

short dst failed, i tested it on my manufacturer's tools,

Did you do the the long test?

mind telling me why you wouldn't do killdisk?

I use diskpart, clean all.

How would you reinstall with no DVD?

You are killing me

You say you want to run killdisk. Experts on this site tell you there is no need to run killdisk. We explain the purpose is to overwrite existing data, which is a security measure usually used to wipe drives in preparation of surplussing or discarding drives. Again, if you want to run it, knock yourself out.

You say you want to delete everything on your hard drive. Fine. You then say you don't have the media. You are going to need an iso image in order to reinstall Windows.
