Have a question about the driver for this Kingston SSD. My computer have AMD Chipset, AMD Processor and AMD Graphic Card. Now what I want to know if this is wise to change the driver from AMD RAID to Microsoft AHCI or leave it alone as is. My SSD is working but doesn't work in Kingston ToolBox to check the drives. Someone said that I can change the driver from AMD to Microsoft but I don't feel comfortable about this. I don't know if it's really necessary to change the driver for this SSD or not.

Thank you,

John

The MS AHCI driver is ok but, if you want to use the AMD one, that will be ok too.
Do you have RAID? Honestly, if the computer is running ok and you find no issues, I would leave the MS one.
Have you checked to see if the computer is running in AHCI mode? Have you been into the BIOS setup of your computer to check if the SATA controller is set to AHCI?
If you ARE running RAID, the toolbox will NOT work for a RAID setup. I can assure you of this as the machine I am typing this on has 2 V300 Kingstons in RAID, the "trim" function will ALSO not work in RAID no matter what ANYONE tells you.
The ONLY way for the toolbox to work is for your system to be on 1 drive and as AHCI.

I do hope I haven't confused the issue too much for you? :)

Want to say thank you for your explanation about SSD. Yes I understood what you are saying about? I have decided to leave it alone as is and my SSD is working with no problem even with TRIM too.

Thank you,

John
