Hi all. I have 2 computers on the same network (connected to the same router). Now the problem is when one PC hosts a game, the other PC can't see it (and vice a versa). I have tried this with several games (both PCs using each game with same version) and still both PCs can't see each other.

On the other hand, under My Computer-Network, both PCs can see each other and access any shared files between the 2.

I have spent several hours trying to fix this but nothing has seemed to help :( Help would be much appreciated.

PS: Both PCs are running Windows 7 Ultimate x86

It would help the experts if they had more details of your set up, don't forget they can't see what you have so need as much information as possible.

What type of PC's are they, desktop or laptop, how are they connected to the router, via Ethernet or wirelessly, I take it you have shared the games and you're running them with admin permission ?

I'm no expert but those are my thoughts so please post back with details about your set up and the experts will be able to help you, also it would help if you filled in your System Specs so they know what you have. :)

Both of the computers are laptops. Laptop A is a Dell Inspiron 1420. These are its specs:

*Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T6400 @ 2.00GHz 2.00 GHz
*RAM: 3.00 GB
*Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit
*Graphics card: GeForce 8400M GS

Laptop B is a Lenovo Y410:

*Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5250 @ 1.50GHz 1.50 GHz
*RAM: 3.00 GB
*Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit
*Graphics card: Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family

Both are connected to the same router (wirelessly) and are on the same network.

I have assigned a static address for both:

For Laptop A:
-IP address: 10.0.0.6
-Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
-Default gateway: 10.0.0.2
-Preferred DNS server 10.0.0.2
-Alternate DNS server: 10.0.0.3

and Laptop B:
-IP address: 10.0.0.5
-Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
-Default gateway: 10.0.0.2
-Preferred DNS server 10.0.0.2
-Alternate DNS server: 10.0.0.3

I have run both with admin privileges. What do you mean by shared? Cause we both got the same game on our PC.

If both PCs can see each other ping and open shared folders. there may be problem with firewall and game. did you allow your game to make out/in connections on your network firewall?
