Language Bar kidnaps other Toolbars on Restart

Hello, everyone,

I have been struggling with toolbars disappearing in Windows 7 after reboot and have found little help in Googling the problem. There are two goals to this post:

Goal 1: I found several people out there complaining about disappearing toolbars. I would like to suggest that if they have the Language Bar that it may be the cause.

Goal 2: To see if any of you might be able to help me make the Language Bar co-exist with other toolbars.

After some work, I narrowed it down to the Language Bar as the culprit. While the MediaMonkey Microplayer toolbar was the initial cause of my frustration, I think this problem occurs with any toolbar. I will use the "Desktop" toolbar as an example of the bug I am seeing.

Could you please follow along and see if you have the same behavior as I am seeing?

1) Right-Click on the task bar and go to the "Toolbars" section.

2) Put a check mark next to one of the toolbars, such as the "Desktop" toolbar to activate it.

3) Go to the Control Panel and open the Regional and Language Options section.

4) In the "Keyboards and Languages" section, press the "Change Keyboards" button.

5) Click on the "Language Bar" tab and in the "Language Bar" section select "Docked in the Taskbar".

6) Select "OK" to confirm the settings and exit the menu.

7) We should now have the Language Bar and one of the toolbars (the Desktop toolbar in this example) in the lower-right corner of the screen. Restart the computer. Upon restart, I found that the Language Bar is still there, but the Desktop toolbar is not anymore. You can right-click on the task bar and select "Toolbars" to reactivate it as described in step (1), but it would disappear again upon restart.

8) After much work, I realized that if I hid/disabled the language bar, my other toolbars will no longer be disabled upon start up.

Do any of you observe this? Any ideas on how to fix it? As an occasional Dvorak and Chinese input user, it's irritating to have to choose between the language bar and other tool bars.

Quick Summary of Symptom:

Upon re-reading it, I realized that the description might be too bulky for some. Here is a short description of my problem:

When my language bar is enabled and docked in the task bar, all of my other toolbars get disabled upon restart. I would have to right-click on the toolbar and re-enable all of them after each startup if I wanted them active. The other toolbars do not get deactivated when the language bar is hidden and not on the toolbar.

Do any of you know how to fix this? Do any of you observe it?

I don't have the language bar enabled, and when my custom made toolbars disappear, they are completely gone from the list and can only be brought back with a system restore.

Very annoying to say the least.

Interesting...In my case, they are still there and can be reactivated...you would just have to do so upon every restart. I think your issue may be different than mine but the fact remains that something is screwy with the toolbar areas.

As an update (since this post was a while back), I could not find a solution to this issue. Therefore, I am getting by with the language bar disabled when not needed, since it is the more convenient of the two inconveniences.

I would be grateful for anybody else who can either offer the explanation, or take the time to try out the steps in the first post and verify that my situation is not unique.
