Laptop Antenna Size?

Can anyone tell me the size/name of the antenna connector on laptop WiFi cards? I would like to connect a regular antenna to a laptop using some kind of converter if possible. :p Also, what is the standard connector called, since were on the topic?

I sometimes have a situation where I need to boost the signal on my laptop but would like to simply connect the card to my 9dBi antenna.

You would be better off using a range extender (no wires or connections to worry about + they are pretty cheap) ;)
