Do you really think it's an hardware problem??? I mean what cause the problem like head or motor
OS Windows 7 Ultimate x32 CPU Intel core 2 duo E7400 2.8 Motherboard Intel DG31PR Memory 3GB Graphics Card(s) Sapphire Radeon HD 4670 1Gb ddr3 Sound Card Creative 5.1 Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic 17 widescreen Hard Drives 320gb Sata PSU 600watt Case Antec 900
I think it has to be hardware. How could the OS vibrate the computer. Could be the DVD drive, HD, fan. motor any one of many things.
What is your opinion?

was the dvd disc inserted correctly , the drive on one of my laptops has a sticky locator and sometimes the disc does'nt latch properly ,that causes it to vibrate

i think i agree with pebby when i insert the dvd gently i mean not giving an external pressure creates light noise but still i am unsatisfied

Very good possiblity, something that should be looked into.

If you think that you are not inserting the DVD correctly, thats one thing. If it has the problem regardless of how it iserted that is something else. You have to decide, we are not there.

This is funny, just 10 minutes ago the same thing happened to me (for the first time) when I was trying to install a driver from a CD on the wife's HP laptop. It went so far as to freezing the whole system and I had to power it off. But after gently reinserting the CD, the problem went away.

hmm on my Dell 1440 i bought a few months ago, when i inserted a disk it spinned like crazy making laptop vibrate so much! i had to take out the CD, It kept doing that a few times and then stopped. I think it has something to do with the drive being new
