Laptop keeps dying - no record of it.

Hello all,

I have a Samsung Q430 laptop with a core i5-460M processor. It keeps dying on me. Not consistently, or with any discernible pattern. The screen just turns black and it shuts down. When I turn it back on I don't get any sort of message, it just restarts as normal. When I go to the reliability monitor, there is no record of an improper shutdown. This is incredible frustrating, as the computer runs great and is plenty fast for me despite being four years old. Does anybody have thoughts on what the issue could be? Last night I did a clean re-install of Windows 7, but the problem is still there. I keep everything up to date.

Thanks for any advice! David

Sounds like a heat problem to me. Try installing SpeedFan and monitor the temps.
