I have a lenovo g570 essential series and its almost an 4years old. It has 2 gb ram. I use it only for making word documents and browsing. It lags frequently and the chrome browser often says not responding. Is that legit? What are some of the ways to ensure maximum performance? ( i already have avast anti virus, ran ccleaner several times, and cleared cache)

Its the 2Gb ram thats killing it, thats the bare minimum for W7 Ultimate.

Buy more RAM check your comp specs at Lenovo's site for your make model.
It will tell you what you can upgrade to and the correct type of RAM.

Although I agree that more RAM will help, you should not see lagging and not responding with this configuration. Check with the task manager whether there are any processes that are unnecessarily interfering.
