I have just doen a reset of my laptop as it was very slow, and I have had it for 18 months and not had to do one in that time.

The wireless on the laptop was working perfectle this morning, but since the reset it isn't detecting any wireless networks.

I think the problem may be down to the fact that the current wifi card isn't the card that come shipped with the laptop as I upgraded it. I have tried to find the specific mini driver from the device manager but that isn't very specific and it is also saying that the drivers are up to date.

Can ayone suggest a solution?

Regards AF

If you know the model of the wifi card, try googling for it's driver. I usually find the device manager not very good in detecting drivers.

In the device manager I am being told that my network controller has no driver and when I select to search for one nothing is found, I think this maybe the problem.

I can't remember the name as I replaced it as soon as I got my new laptop, so how do I find the model of the card without having to go inside the laptop?

Got it sorted now, it was down to the fact that I had upgraded my wireless card so it had the incorrect drivers so it didn't work.

You can find the device type by going into device manager - right click on the unkown device - properties - details - under property change device description to hardware ids - copy then do a google search and you can find out what your unkown device was.
