:confused:My HP Elitebook 8530p is running so hot that I can't touch the bottom without getting burned.I have tried running CCleaner, and my complete clean from Defender but neither helped. Also not sure if it is related to the heat or not but it has been running a lot slower in the past 2 weeks as well.Thank you.

you are posting in the wrong forum on this site and this can be caused by just having too much stuff open why don't you open the task manager and see what kinds of processes are running and end some of the ones not in use

You should clean out the bottom of your laptop with compressed air. Be sure to hold the bottle upright when cleaning and spray it a little bit before you start cleaning to clear any liquid out of the nozzle. Your computer has overheat protection, so it is probably slowing down your system to try and prevent the overheating. CCleaner will NOT fix overheating. Don't use its registry function unless you REALLY know what you are doing. If you did, I would make sure every program works properly and if not, system restore to a time before you ran it. Does your fan come on? Also, what antivirus are you using?

When blowing out the computer, be sure to blow thru the exhaust port (where the hot air is coming out) and also thru the air intake port (s) on the bottom. When you are using your laptop, it's important to remember that the cooling air is (usually) drawn in thru the grill(s) on the bottom. If the laptop is sitting on a soft fabric surface like a blanket (or your lap), the intake may be blocked, causing over-heating.

if it burns ,its related to heat .actually sounds like a lot of dust build up in the heatsinc and fan housing inside the laptop .might take a bit more that a can of compressed air ,but that's a good start

edit-
did you try running in safemode ,it could be video chip overheating as well I think
