This shot shows a problem that's just started to corrupt the desktop screen display on my laptop.

Acer Laptop - Screen fault, corrupted pixels maybe, 21Nov15.JPG

This event has happened twice over the past couple of days. I have no idea what causes the problem except that on each time where it corrupted the desktop screen, I had just closed an open internet page to return to my desktop.

I'm not sure if it's a technical issue with the laptop screen, or perhaps something failing in my display or graphics card.

That is strange. Have you tried a different Wallpaper to see if they are on it also? Is it only on the Desktop or on other pages too?

I'm using the installed UK themes as desktop backgrounds, shuffled very 10 minutes, and I've run full tests across all of them - "Desktop theme>Open internet website>close internet site" - to try and duplicate the problem, but didn't get a result. It seems to be a very random event, so today I'll try to keep one website up and running in the background, to see what happens over a prolonged period. Will advise..

Interestingly the all sit about the vertical middle of the display - that tells me its not random. Is the video driver updated? What browser and site were open at the time?

Firefox - latest update version. And funny enough, a NewsCorp (au) website - both times!

Next time it comes up, see if it is the NewsCorp website. If so, change to a different website and see if it goes away.

AMD Driver Update did the trick

Interestingly the all sit about the vertical middle of the display - that tells me its not random. Is the video driver updated? What browser and site were open at the time?

I made several more attempts to duplicate the corruption seen in my first post, without success. At the start, I had checked for the video driver update via Windows Device Manager > Update Driver Software > Search automatically for driver etc, etc, and got the "Windows has determined driver software is up to date". No joy there ...

However, after a rethink I went a stage further and logged into the Acer website. A search of drivers etc using my laptop specifications, found that there was a later updated version for the AMD driver.

Result ; Latest video driver installed, and no further problems since.
