I'm reinstalling windows 7 on my VAIO VPC-EC4L1E laptop. I've got this laptop for about 2 and a half years and it began to run slow.

I started putting all information i still need on an portable HDD, after that i put the installation usb in the laptop and booted from the CD. In the setup i started with formatting and deleting the existing partitions and than i made new 2 partitions. 1 for the system files and programs (120GB) and 1 for the data (340GB). Next to those 2 windows automatically makes an 100mb system partition.
So i started installing windows on the 120GB partition, but during the setup (extracting files somewhere at 50%) the laptop shuts down. When i restart the setup starts running all over again.. Now the only possibility is to keep booting from the usb..

Does someone know what to do about this?

Set the HD first to boot in BIOS setup so that the flash stick won't run at reboot. Then trigger the stick to boot when needed using only the one-time BIOS Boot Menu key which is F2 on most Sony's.

If this fails, unplug the flash stick at the first reboot during install.

You should be following the steps in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
to get and keep a perfect install.
