Hey,
I've tried everything I could think of and am starting to accept the loss of my data but please help if you can.

When I start my laptop everything's fine until the login screen shows. It has the Windows background, I can move the cursor but the user login doesn't appear.
I tried starting in save mode and various other settings.
At one point I accidentally started a Samsung recovery software so I reset the system without overwriting any data, but that didn't help.
I had the same problem a day ago but after forcing it to turn off and turning it on again it worked so I've tried that a lot but nothing.
Last thing I did was closing my laptop so it would've been in energy saving mode but when I opened it again, I think the screen was still on?

Open for any ideas, thank you.

Hello and welcome Pini mate some system specs would be good very hard not knowing what one is working with System Info - See Your System Specs

Now just out of interest can you get into safe mode if so please run these
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Disk Check < if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2
Run these in safe mode and the sfc often best run for two to three runs – you can leave out the /r switch in ckdsk if you feel it not necessary.

Now you can recover data using this ditty of mine
BOOTABLE UBUNTU
Make a bootable Ubuntu disk Download Ubuntu Desktop | Download | Ubuntu
Set the BIOS to boot from the optical when the machine boots it will show you a screen with TRY or INSTALL > select TRY not INSTALL
When it is finished - it takes very little time you will get a screen like in the pic .
Open the drive you want > User and dig down until you get to the data / settings you may be able to copy / paste the material you want to an external source or other installed drive doing this.
I am not sure if it will but I have recovered tons of data etc using this method both on "dead" or just plain drives that you cannot get data from using Windows.
There is another Linux based one here*Emergency Kit - save your files from a dead OS*I prefer my Ubuntu fix only because it is a little easier to set up. Emergency Kit - save your files from a dead OS

Also if you are running the Samsung Magician software uninstall it for the time being as I know it can cause problems with some hardware - example it shut down my USB ports on my Ivy Bridge build - an unusual thing but that what it was.

PS The Ubuntu pic is of an old version but it should still be roughly the same. I am in the process of updating it at the moment but again essentially it should run just the same way.
