Solved Large file transfer shuts down lan

Windows 10 Pro.When I got replacement mobo Gigabyte G1.Assassin2, the only lan driver I could find was "Bigfoot Killer Ethernet Controller" for Win XP 64 on Giga site: "mb_driver_lan_bigfoot.exe" 74.404 GB (2012). G1.Assassin 2 (rev. 1.0) Support | Motherboard - GIGABYTE Global when I do large file transfer from PC over lan (over 2 GB), network goes down and must reboot to recover lan. I downloaded from Intel site: "lan-win10-64-24.3.exe" of 11/15/2019 Intel® Gigabit Ethernet Network Connection Driver for Windows® 10 for Legacy Intel® NUC of 11/15/2019. Intel(R) Gigabit Ethernet Network Connection Driver for Windows(R) 10 for Legacy Intel(R) NUC but Windows tells me "mb_driver_lan_bigfoot.exe" must be uninstalled before can install Intel lan-win. Should I substitute the Intel driver for the Giga driver, hoping to solve lan issue; or does someone have a better idea?

Windows 10 should have installed a default driver already. Was that not the case? Uninstall what you have now and reboot allowing Windows to install its driver.

No, the Intel driver (a NUC driver no less) won't work. You have a Killer Atheros chipset, not Intel. I have found no Windows 10 version, but this appears to be the latest. Again, try just the Windows 10 default driver. Download Qualcomm Atheros Killer 2100 Driver/Software - Opendrivers

This is an Intel NUC. It's a mini ITX computer. Gigabyte and other manufactures make them... Mini-ITX - Wikipedia

Lan driver for Bigfoot Killer E2100 chip

"Windows 10 should have installed a default driver already. Was that not the case? Uninstall what you have now and reboot allowing Windows to install its driver."

Unfortunately, if I uninstall my current driver, I won't have any lan driver and no lan. Win10 did not install a default driver that recognized the Killer E2100 chip. That's why I had to go to Gigabyte site to find the 2011 driver I now have. Programs and Features shows "Broadcom 802.11 Network Adapter" but that might refer to the NIC chip on the Gigabyte mobo.

However, the link you gave looked very interesting as it was specifically for my Killer E2100 chip and ver. 6.10.0.603 of 7/15/2014
vs. the driver I'm using from 5/18/2011 ver. 6.0.0.23. Unfortunately, neither url allowed a download.

An Intel tech suggested I look at
Download Intel(R) Killer™ Software and Drivers

which lists 3 possible lan driver packages. Since the Qualcomm Atheros Killer 2100 driver is unavailable, what do you think of the above link?[h=1][/h]

I can't even find the Killer website to look at their drivers anymore. Does it even exist? I have one Gigabyte system that uses Killer networking but it's the E2200. From what I remember Killer networking is not very popular. You might consider adding a PCIe network adapter using a different chipset.

This is quite helpful. Can you recommend a PCIE card?
I have Windows 10 Pro on Intel i7 4930k system.
