I could probably do more web searching or post to a dedicated computer forum, and find out. but hey. :P

The 3rd gen i5 mobile cpu's are separate from the motherboard, I know that much. I know that 7th gen i5 mobile cpu's are soldered to the mbd. does anyone know where along the xth gen i5/i7 line, mobile cpu's became integrated with the mbd? (or the last generation of i5/i7, which are detachable from the mbd) I think 4th and 5th gen used BGA, rather than socket (unless they came in both flavours) - but I don't know whether or not you can "socket" a ball grid array. thanks
