Latest BSOD - 0x0000003b related to ataport.sys

Hi,

I have been getting BSOD's intermittently ever since moving to Windows 7 64b over a year ago. There have been several reason codes over the months with the latest relating to ataport.sys (error 0x0000003b). Perhaps you could aslo review the minidumps related to the earlier crashes and advise on a general course of action. I am really frustrated by this and have been advised to go back to 32b, flash the bios and a host of other things too terrible to mention here.

Run an sfc/scannow command in an elevated command prompt. If errors are found, run it twice more with each scan followed by a reboot.

Test your RAM using Memtest86+. Let it run until 6-8 passes have completed or errors have been found.

Run a chkdsk on the system partition to check for bad sectors or system errors.

Run a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html. It should fix your current version and Windows 7 but preserve your data, programs, user accounts etc.
