I was running Paltalk 11.2 and I was asked if I wanted to upload the latest version of Paltalk which is 11.4 I .

I said yes but it would never download properly. So I unistalled version 11.3 that I was using and downloaded the installer for 11.4 from paltalk

So it the installer goes into my download folder but when I click on it to bring up the runtime installer, all that shows up is a window with a picture which has "Paltalk Messenger 11.4 Setup 562" up the top of the window and below that is a picture of people and some writing which is incomplete and cut off saying thankyou for downloading Paltalk.

It does not give me the usual and proper installation and run window to load the software and set up paltalk.

The same incomplete window was appearing when I still had 11.2 installed and paltalk was asking me if I'd like to download the latest version and it would not complete installation. I tried to install an earlier version - 10.3 and run that instead of 11.4. The driver for 10.3 will open and pattalk begins to load and open up but as it does it asks me to upgrade to 11.4 and if I say "yes", the same window as described above shows up and it just freezes and doesn't install. If I say "no" to the upgrade, paltalk and the installation of 10.3 just closes down.

Noone else seems to have had any problem with upgrading with 11.4 so it must be something on my end. If anyone has a clue please let me know.

Also I tried using palexpress but when I went to turn my camera on or someone else went to load a camera in a room with me, the adobe flash drive "accept" or "deny" shows up so I can load my cam with pal-express but the window freezes and I can't actually click on the accept or deny button.

Thanks anyone who might be able to give me some insight into what is going on.:confused::confused:

Hi Annie and Welcome to the Sevens Forum.
First off I would get back to where you were before attempting this update. Do a system restore to a point before the update attempt. Here's how if you are not familiar with System restore:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html
When you have done this we can look at the update for you. You should also set your time zone for the Forum to your Australian Zone, at present you are in the US time zone hence the odd time shown in you profile. No rush we can help you set this later if needs be.
P.S. Don't worry if one of the Mods moves this thread to the Software Forum.

Hello Annie,

I used 11.2 for the past two months (almost). I updated mine just now to take a look at it again--hoping for it to be better, but it is just like the same. I am now moving to videolink2.me. Paltalk, just like Skype in the sense that it first requires its stand-alone installer, then endless updates, and then your money. You are very limited in Paltalk. Agree? If you have someone to constantly have real time communication/video conferencing, I suggest you try videolink2.me. You would end liking it. Einstein said, "Everything must be simple; but not simpler." I think videolink2.me is just like that. You can access it with just your browser even on your Android phone. You can even use screen sharing. And unlike Paltalk, you do not have to bounce off intruders to your room, because it is more secure and private. Unless, of course, you just like to jump from room to room then Paltalk is for you--it is the only thing it is good at (I think). Try the suggestion given though to resolve this installer issue--use system restore. It might help you with your problem. I was just suggesting Annie. The decision is yours. Peace.
