Latest Version of Comodo Firewall Released

EchoX860- If you are getting Sandbox or Defense+ pop-ups it means that the Sandbox and HIPS do not yet know that those programs are safe to run. If you put Defense+ in Training Mode and then open each of the programs Comodo will learn their behavior and you will not receive pop-ups for those programs again after you return Defense+ to the default Safe Mode.

How come even if I download just the Firewall, it still shows up in Program Files as COMODO Internet Security, it even does that in Revo. It's annoying and doesn't show the Firewall Icon in Revo.

Echox86- I've often wondered the same thing in that I also only use the Firewall Portion of the Suite also. I have made an .ico image of this Comodo Firewall Logo like the one you have in your signature and then replaced the CIS logo with it in the task bar so at least it shows up as CFP and not CIS on my desktop...

Max, now that I think about it. When you click "Download" and the File is 50mb, I think the Internet Security is included in the download, but it's dormant on your PC until you choose to install it using the Change or Delete section of the Comodo Folder

I've read that you can add additional parts of CIS, but Antivirus programs became obsolete on my computer when I installed another program that I first heard about on the Comodo Forums which was Sandboxie.

It happened one day when I went to the Tom's Hardware web site and there was a big fat Trojan Downloader. The Comodo Antivirus informed me of its name and wanted to know if I wanted to have it quarantined. At this point I could either have the Malware quarantined or overwrite the entire Sandbox with 7 passes of the Schneier Algorithm. I chose to completely destroy the Malware by overwriting it and that the only advantage to having an Antivirus was to make known the name of the Malware.

Since then I have not run an Antivirus of any sort for over a year now choosing rather to run my browser in the virtual space of Sandboxie with the amazing Comodo Proactive Defense+ HIPS and Automatic Sandboxing guarding the desktop. I have several on demand scanners and cloud scanners which I use to scan the computer, but I have not seen the detection of any Malware not even so much as a single tracking cookie.

I'm not recommending this approach to computer security to the general public, but with several clean Windows 7 System Images and clean Macrium Reflect Image Backups stored on several inert drives the computer could be up and running again in 5 minutes in the very unlikely event that Sandboxie was to be circumnavigated.

I installed the latest Comodo Firewall v5.3 release last night and after I ran all of my frequently used programs in Proactive Defense+ HIPS Training Mode I changed the Configuration to Proactive, disabled the Comodo Sandbox, ran the 34 Leak Tests and got these perfect results on the very first round...

I recommend anyone using a router firewall to use this site to check your firewall. I'm not sure I would install a firewall if your router has one and is configured properly. https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

Does your router's Firewall have software that can do the same job of computer security as Comodo's top testing Proactive Defense+ which accompanies the Comodo Firewall and will stop any unauthorized program from running on the computer?

Unfortunately it seems as though the ARP protection is blocking internet access in v5.5.195786.1382. I also had this problem of all internet access being blocked after upgrading from v5.4 to v5.5. I've since retrograded to v5.4 until Comodo can get this 'maintance release' fixed which should be soon.
