Hmm. The updated mail seems to load much faster. Its almost usable now

My only question is why this update did not show up in Windows Update. I have it set for Microsoft Updates also so I would think it would be there. If I had not seen this updated thread I would have missed it. Thanks for the update, Shawn.

Interesting point. Me too. Perhaps it is not considered a mainline product since it is "free".

You can adjust how Silverlight updates by opening the Silverlight shortcut in the Start Menu, or the file below for your 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7. The red numbers indicate the version number. You would want to look in the latest version number folder.

32-bit Windows 7
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Silverlight\4.0.51204.0\Silverlight.Configuration.exe

64-bit Windows 7
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Silverlight\4.0.51204.0\Silverlight.Configuration.exe

How to force an update?

Actually I have Windows Live Essentials 2011 installed, but the versions of Sept 2010.

Is there a way to update to the Dec 15th versions without reinstalling the whole stuff? In the case of Windows Live Mesh 2011 and Outlook Connector this is a little cumbersome if you have to do it on 3 computers and have to reapply all your personal settings again.

I mean command-line options like
wlsetup-all.exe /forceinstall /all /overwrite /silent

Never got an update to Live Essentials 2011 in the meantime except Silverlight.

Download the install package from the following link.
The wlsetup-web.exe package will offer to update any packages that are installed and also offer to install new ones. Just select the ones you want.

I have all of the Windows Live Essentials 2011 installed except family safety.

My installed version of Windows Live Mesh 2011 is
Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3502.0922)

As announced on Page #1 of this thread there is a new version available

Windows Live Mesh 2011 15.4.3508.1109 (old 15.4.3502.922)

When I run either
wlsetup-web.exe
or
wlsetup-all.exe

it just offers me to install family safety but not update to all the other Windows Live Essentials 2011 apps.

No update, the installer just informs me that I already have installed all the Essentials except Family Safety.

Nothing happens, no update!

Do you have any additional suggestions?

You might see if uninstalling and reinstalling all "Windows Live Essentials 2011" programs may be able to update it afterwards. Be sure to use the setup program from the download link below when reinstalling.

I just downloaded the wlsetup-web.exe and when I check its properties it shows ver 15.4.3502.922



I have ver 15.4.3508.1109 installed on my system. It was installed on 12/15/2010 and I found the wlsetup-web file I downloaded on 12/15/2010 and used to update and it shows 15.4.3502.922 also.

Very confusing. You would think the wlsetup would reflect the new version.

It's very confusing:

When I open About Live Mesh 2011 I get
Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3502.0922

In Programs an features I find a Windows Live Mesh Active X Control for Remote Connections Version 15.4.5722.2

There is a Version 15.4.5722.2 of Live Mesh 2011 available for download, but it is for the MAC.

Personally I never use Live Mesh for Remote Connections - It is very slow even on the LAN. Team Viewer 6.x is my choice for Remote Support.

The reason, why I want to update Live Mesh is as follows:

On my primary working machine Live Mesh works great and uploads all my documents to the SkyDrive Mesh Area.
But on the Slave Machines I get errors all the time:

Cannot synchronize File Blah-Blah - Path too long. As I have read the path should be less than 255 chars. Under normal circumstances any document organisation exceeds that maximum.

And I definitively do not want to go back to the 8.3 naming conventions found in the famous MS-DOS OS.

Is there a config option/registry key to exceed the 255 char limit?

I wish I could help but I only use Live Mail,Photo Gallery and Movie Maker and they are 15.4.3508.1109. What do the rest of your Live programs show? Is Mesh the only one on a different version?

I personally just use Live Mesh and the Outlook Connector.

Outlook Connector ist ver 14.0.5118.5000.

Using that version I have between 300 and nearly 1900 reports in Synchronization Errors.

I ignore them all, my calendar, contacts get synchronized sometimes duplicates occur - Seems to be the normal quality of service.

Sorry Oblowmow. I was looking at the wrong item for the file verison for Mesh.
