Latest windows updates updates ... is there something going on?

for 72 hours now im geting constant updates on windows update ....
windows even re instaled SP1 ...

story goes my hdd broke down 3 days ago so i installed on a new hd win 7 home prem. x64 +sp1, since that time i had at least 5 hours of updates (inc. setup)

funny thing is a friend did format on his pc today and we spend 3 hours updating (dont think he finished, instead he went to sleep)

My q is (as stated above) is there a reason for the 34/72/4/3/2/1/silverlight new updates found????? did win7 went unstable????

its rly anoying (got some failed updates to)

until 3 days ago i had no probs.....

I got two updates today on a system i just finished lastnight and i verified a few times that it was up to date. The ones i got today were both the same and had something to do with Xhtml files, i didnt read the full description, i just ran the updates and shut down.

im still geting updates since yesterday i have 97 updates and im geting another 11 as i type here (i think my hdd is going to explode) restart restart restart.....

Are they failing or are they actually installing?
When i installed Sp1 yesterday it was really slow and failed the first time for some reason but installed fine the second time.

some of them are failing but most of them are instaled and then i when i use windows update just new massive updates are available .... its like we are re instaling windows from the begining..... i dont know..... maybe until they fix their updade we sould not scan for new ones couse every time you scan for new they massivly pop up
