Okay. I completely shut down all 3 applications and made sure I have no Forefront client security or Onecare. I tried the installation and it failed. I am totally sure that these 3 applications are not affecting the installation in any way. So what other things can be affecting?

Those were my best guesses. I will let someone else take over from here as I am clueless as to what would cause an error, aside from those programs.

Not a solution, but worth to try: Create another administrator account and log into it, then try to install this AV there.

I tried that but it doesn't work. I'm thinking of doing a Clean Install of the newest build of Windows 7 and trying to install again but that just scares me.

However you will have to very soon. RTM is almost at the doors.

Morro works just fine with Avast! installed as well. No conflicts as of yet.

There are always gaps in coverage. Since both are free, I don't really trust either. This way, I will catch pretty much anything. (Hopefully)

Besides, it doesn't suck up too much resources. So whatever.

I think this way your chance to catch something is reduced since 2 av on the system may cause conflicts in the real time protection and the virus just passes by while 2 'bodyguards' are 'fighting each other'.

LB i would just use one.
It could cause conflicts.
I think MSE is a darn good AV

Yeah, using two seems like overkill to me and hogging more system resources than required.

Think about it, you're downloading a file from the Net and you have two programs scanning said file as it's being created. That simply can't be as fast as only one program doing it...just as an example.

Haha. I think I have been here for a while. I just never liked M$'s built in AV/Firewall. Now it seems to work. :shock:

I think since IE8 will be removed from EU release of 7, they thought to invest somewhere else, so they built Morro and now if it will be installed in the final release of win7 distribuited in europe, final users won't buy products like norton or mcafee.

Very possible. The good thing is that M$ did this one well. It is real light and probably fairly easy to remove (unlike Norton which is considered a Virus in itself. It has its own removal tool!).

I just finished installing MSE on fresh and clean system. I'm impressed by the performance of this new AV. It looks clean and simple, so far so good.

I removed Avast to try out MSE and so far I'm impressed as well. I do have Threatfire running but since they work differently, I'm having no problem with this. I ran Threatfire with Avast for many months.

I run both MSE & Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware without an issue.
