Learning McAfee EPO 5.1

Morning,

My job is currently assigning new projects to our team, and I was thrown the task of making sure McAfee Epo 5.1 was working as it should, that the DLP, scan and virus protection were up to date and being pushed from the EPO. I've never worked with McAfee, and was wondering where I could find some resources where I could learn and figure this out. I know it's not easy, I'm told there are people who just do this for a living, so I know what I'm in for, just looking for a start. Please let me know, any help is appreciated, thank you.

You have an impossible task
Mcafee is one of the worst antivirus programs ever developed and quite frankly is not compatible with windows

I'm guessing you know this from experience? I'm always up for a good story, also, is there something else you would suggest? We're a company of about 100 users on Windows 7, any advice is appreciated, thank you.

Hi,
Yep everyone I believe has been a sucker at least once with installing Mcafee
Most of us had no choice and it was preinstalled on our oem machines and completely made them useless.
It's hell to get rid of and often requires a clean install to get rid of it.

There are many better alternatives to Mcafee or even Norton which yes even was a sucker for Norton too
Again preinstalled and tough to get rid of......

Avast/ Panda/Kaspersky .... any of them are better
Just stay well away from anything by IObit or TrendMicro

Unfortunately the decision on what anti virus to use is above my pay grade, so I have to figure this one out.

I have no idea why companies choose such bad security programs like this

Intel owns Mcafee now but they were supposed to rebrand/ change the name of it
Intel kills off McAfee Security brand - CNET
