Learning Snacks are short, interactive presentations about popular topics created by Microsoft Learning experts. Each Snack is delivered by using innovative Microsoft Silverlight technology and includes various media, such as animations and recorded demos. At the end of each free presentation, you can view more Snacks, learn more about the topic, or visit a related Web site.

Note To view Learning Snacks, you must install Microsoft Silverlight and enable pop-up windows. You will need to use the 32-bit browser for this.

Why do people hate SilverLight? I've been using it since it came out, and I don't have any problems with it.

Quite wanted to check that out, but I ain't installing 'SilverBloat' :)

Its actually Flash thats bloat, When you Install Silverlight you just get the plugin but when you install Flash you get Adobe AIR and another two applications depending on your country of residence. Flash is also one of the most notorious privacy killers on the planet thanks to their propriety Cookie system that prevents users from easily cleaning tracking cookies and protecting their privacy.

Ill give one example, I can use flash in native 64bit applications (using less than 120 lines of code) yet Adobe have not released a 64bit variant of Flash (If anyone has experience with Firefox addons or ActiveX then contact me asap so we enable 64bit flash browser support) Theres a NDA preventing me from discussing technical details publically but 64bit flash is already possible, its just Adobe that doesn't want people using it.

Anything that competes with Flash is a good thing, Adobe has neglected flash for years and its competition from Sliverlight thats going to force them to release a better product.
