Hi,

I have been experiencing lags on my Laptop for Left 4 Dead and CS2.
Specs: ACER Aspire 4715
Pentium Dual Core
1GB RAM
m965 chipset
Windows7 Ultimate

I did not have problems with CS2 when I had WinXP but with Windows7, I have some lagging issues. I cannot compare that of left 4 dead because I never played it on XP on this machine.

I have updated all drivers, I even tried the optimized intel GMA drivers to no avail.

Is this a direct X issue? If so, is there a switch I need to make in the config file.

I don't normally play on my laptop, as I use it more for work.. But when I'm on trips, I tend to get bored.. And I'm not due to replace my laptop some time soon.

Help needed?

dexmax, welcome to the forums.

First thing is to make sure you have the latest driver for the video,

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18223&ProdId=2800&lang=eng

That is the latest reference drive and may not install/work, if not double check and see what Acer has for it.

Second is don't expect much even with an updated driver as the GM965/X3100 really isn't good for much more than solitaire (despite what Intel may claim),

Notebookcheck: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100

looking at the tests results there both of those games show as being pretty much unplayable.
