For some reason Windows 7 will not find my Laser printer. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate RC1, I have set the ip address of my printer to 192.168.0.33, I can log into my printer from Internet Explorer and printer using other computers running xp and vista.

When I running add new printer, it searches the network for the printer but finds nothing even if I tell it the ip address to look at.

Any ideas would be appreciated, I am enjoying using Windows 7 but it is not much use to me if I cant print!

Thanks for any help Alan.

Running Lexmark's IPconfig programme, I can see my printer on ip address 192.168.0.33. I have tried to add a new printer through my wireless connection and wired connection but windows is unable to see the printer.

I manual added the Lexmark network port and inputed the ip address manually. This allows me to print in black and white only.

I can't add the Lexmark enhanced Communications port because windows cannot not see the printer.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Hi Atann, are you trying to install the printer driver?

-when you run the installation, choose local connection (make sure that automatically select is not checked)
-then create a new port.
-choose standard tcp/ip as the new port type
-type the ip address of the printer (make sure your printer is set to static ip)
-then go through with the rest of the installation

By now, you should be able to print over the network.
