Licensing advice needed

Hi

I have bought some non branded laptops from Hong Kong. They already have windows xp installed onto them but have no license.

My question is,

is it legal for me to sell these without a license on them? if so how would I go about this,

No matter what, it would be illegal to sell computers with pirated/unlicensed OS and grossly illegal to charge customers for the OS or hide the details from them (it could be grossly painful also if the said customers came after you with a stick). If you want to sell these machines, either buy as many XP licenses or uninstall XP and install Open source OS such as various linux distributions or freedos. When you sell the machines make it clear to the customers what they are paying for.

BTW, such activities could also land you in trouble with the authorities so stick to ethical business practises.
