iam trying to find out if limewire runs ok on windows 7 as there was problems when vista was first out

you could consider Frostwire which is a fork of limewire.

I've received the infamous Vundo through FrostWire in the past... Been sticking with LWPro v5.3.6 & my Security Suite(s). ;)

[I'm not saying it's not possible for me to receive the Vundo again with LW, but... honestly... I'm just scared of FrostWire now.]

Well, all are Virus Ridden, you just have to be smart. Most people that use P2P/Gnutella Software forget to check the File sizes.

For example, if you're a pirate, and are downloading music from Limewire... and the file size of the song you want is 64kb, obviously something is abnormal. Yet the average pirate won't realize that, thus infecting their computer with Crapware, etc..

Another give-away, for MP3s, is the lack of a listed bitrate.
