I'm looking for a stable linksys driver, i'm using WMP54G V4.1 , the one that Windows gives u isn't really good, i'm tryin the Ralink stuff, the Ralink RT61 Wireless Lan Card V2, this works almost perfect, it freezes up my computer sometimes when playing games or using high amount of networking, any ideas what drivers to use, also i'm using the Windows 7 RC 64-Bit

I had problems with USB linksys wireless card driver. I gave up, I plugged a WRT54G with dd-wrt firmware and configured the router to be a wireless card. No more driver issue, you just need a normal network card.

If you can't find a solution for your problem, that would be an alternative. But sure it's sad to get rid of a good wireless card.

Normal Network Card?! I'd rather gouge my eyes out and eat them than shell out for a Wired NiC when my Wireless NiC has never failed me.
Microsoft just needs to get their act together with the Software/Hardware companies and get things moving!
I NEED WIN7 7100 To RECOGNIZE MY WIRELESS NiC!
Win7 7000 Saw it fine and made it work even better than XP SP2 but Now Nooooooo It won't see anything beyond saying There's no Cable installed....

I was not telling him to return to wired, I told him to replace his wireless card by a WRT router, with dd-wrt firmware, that can replace efficiently a wireless card.

That is your router, but what card are you using?

If I understand correctly you're using an Ethernet network card, not a wireless one...is that correct?

If so, is it installed properly in the device manager?

Hi netRat
yes mate using a network card which is part of the motherboard so i have a direct net work connection to the router not a wirless connection.
every thing in device manager shows up as installed and running properly no conflicts etc.
i know the hard ware works as it works in vista (32bit).
i have shut down all firewalls and antivirus while trying to run the instal wizard but win 7 seems to stop the wizard from talking to the router.
the wizard asks how i am connected to the router before trying to comunicate with it also asks for password wich i have cut and past and typed no change

If you are connected to the router using an ethernet cable it should require no configuration at all so running the Linksys program isn't necessary...

According to the Asus support page you have a Marvel Yukon network interface.
Marvel currently offers no Win7 drivers, however you can get their latest unified driver package here:

Marvell: Download Drivers

Install that and reboot.

I'm assuming you're either with Telstra Bigpond or Optus cable. Turn both your modem and router off (unplug power) wait for 10 secs. Turn modem on, wait 2 mins, turn router on, wait 2 mins and check if internet is working.

Let us know how you go...

2 minutes after each device is powered up is WAY too long to wait, 30 seconds max ;)

I'm having these issues with my WUSB600N adapter. Saw all the posts with issues too. I'm going to try a few things when I'm home tonight. Have you tried using a different driver then the one Win7 uses out of the box? Also, I read using a powered USB hub may help. Not sure any will work, but I'll give it a shot later.

I tried the most recent drivers from the web. I don't remember exactly where I got them from, i believe they were from the official site. I didn't try with a powered hub, just straight plugged into my computer. I have the WUSB600N as well.

Hi jnfoot,

Have you tried installing the drivers with 'compatability' for Vista. I had an issue with my on board wireless (up untill build 7068) where it was not detected so I had to install the Vista drivers with compatability on & they worked a treat.

Might be worth a try :)

i just made a post about the ralink drivers that i have working with my linksys device, check it out see if theirs what you want

http://www.sevenforums.com/network-internet/12235-linksys-wireless-x64-drivers-some.html

Your driver is right here, and will work with x64

http://www.ralinktech.com.tw/data/d...AU-2.0.3.0_VA-2.0.3.0_021209_1.0.1.0_Free.exe

Thats it,

Install the .exe, than Start > Control Panel > Hardware And Sound > Device Manager > Network Adapters > Double click your current wireless device, > Driver Tab > Update Driver Software > Browse My Computer > Let Me Pick, > Select The RaLink Driver And their ya go!

Same problem as "aussiegreen"

Everything is directly connected but whenever i am playing a game online or running a lot of information it drops the connection. And I am in USA. Rather annoying.
