I just bought a new computer and can't get my USB modem to work. When I plug it in, windows tries to install the driver but fails. Message is 'LINKSYS USB adapter does not have a driver' Looking at the windows 7 compatibility web site, it shows the Linksys USB100TX has no compatibility issues and no other files are required. Can anyone point me to a driver file for my modem that windows 7 will recognize?

Hi frustrated2010, welcome to the forums, the Linksys modem has not got a win7 driver , it has now become a legacy product so no new drivers will be itroduced for it,
You now have 2 options 1- run the XP drivers in compat mode http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html
2- buy a new modem
I personally favor option 2 ;)

Thanks Pebbly! Option 1 still didn't work. I was able to find the xp driver but window 7 does not recognize that either. Any more things I can try before I get that new modem?
