Hi,

When you boot from the USB rescue disk, select the option called Directly Bootable ISOs. Now you should see the name of the rescue ISO you created. Select that : now Macrium will start and will allow you to browse to the .mrming file on S: as shown in the very last image in the tutorial

Make sure you can see this file. If so, simply cancel and then the PC will reboot.

Wen i booted i selected the option called Directly Bootable ISOs and i could c d resue iso file wich i created n i selected it as soon as i selected it a blank screen came den after few seconds 1 line of came came so i pressed Ctrl+Alt+Del to come back to the booting screen then i came back 2 windows as usual.I dint try to find the image file i created.Anyways tanx.Now i have 1 question left Pls don mind as i'm torturing u.Pls help only once.Suppose i'm unable to find the C image file using bootable usb and i use a ubuntu linux cd which i hav to restore windows back.How can i restore the C image file by running ubuntu live cd??

Hi,

I'm afraid that is impossible - only the Linux distribution loaded on the rescue USB disk is capable of restoring a Macrium image.

This why its so critical to check that the rescue USB drive works completely.

Hi,

You cancelled out as Macrium was loading from the USB drive.............you need to get to the blue screen shown in the last image of the tutorial, and then browse and make sure you can see your image. Do NOT select it.....simply make sure you can browse to it. Click cancel, and your system will reboot.

If you aren't 100% comfortable with the imaging process, I think its better you do not attempt this and rather find a friend that can sit down with you and guide you though this.

I tried with my usb drive.It came as follows.I couldnot take screen shots so i'm explaining the steps dat came in the blue screen wizard.Pls help me.
Wen i opened ithe rescue.iso during booting from pendrive,a window opened As
1.Restore Wizard V5.0.4286.
2.Press next to continue.I pressed next,den
3.It said to locate the image.It showed two portions.In upper portion i selected the C drive image file wich i had stored in another drive.In the lower portion it showed my C drive(type:NTFS) and the disk space as 29.491GB.
4.Next
5.Select partition in lower section
6.I selected C(typerimary)
7.Next
8.Choose the target disk(Select a disk to be used as the restore target)
9.Next
10.Select the drive from the following to start restoring.
But i could not see any drive there.It was fully white with no drive to select in it.Den wen i pressed next it said Please select the drive to restore or Select the target drive.But i did not find any drive in it.It was totally blank white screen.Pls help me wat to do.I'm not understanding y its not showing my C drive in it.

Hi,

Please see this example of Restoring. It doesn't sound like you are performing the correct steps, but I cannot tell where you are going wrong from your description.

I'm sorry, I don't what else I can do to help you. You could burn a traditional rescue CD and use that instead.

I watched d video but it was not helpfull in my case.For him it showed the drive to restore after selecting the image file but in my case it is not showing...

Hi,

Instead of creating a rescue ISO, create a rescue CD directly. If the Linux option doesn't work, then try the BartPE option.

BartPE option is only available for 32 bit Windows XP and 32 bit Windows Server 200.. I'm using Windows 7 32-bit...

In Macrium: Create Bootable Rescue Media -> Windows PE *.* - Select this option to create Windows PE *.* recovery media -> Custom Windows PE Rescue Media. Requires an initial 1.7GB download from Microsoft.
