Solved List Folders in Alphabetical Order Drive F:

Hey guys, I've been trying to List Folders in Alphabetical Order on Drive F:

I cannot seem to get the alphabetical thing for starters.

I cannot get cmd to list all at once, so I can scroll through them all.

I was able to create a txt file, but not in alphabetical order.

Tried Powershell aslo, but that is even harder!

I must be missing something as it seems (to me) to be so trivial.
- Open explorer
- open drive F:
- click on Name tab, twice to change order.

On cmd
dir f: /O

Not sure what this part means, but that worked great Megahertz07! I know a little more about the Linux Terminal, but really need to learn the CMD!

Thanks, that made me very happy. Now if I could learn more. I just can't seem to find easy to understand literature.

You're running Win 7 or Linux?

"click on Name tab, twice to change order." If you click and get ascending order, click again to get descending, again to get ascending...

I guess I just don't know what the "Name Tab" is? Though right now don't really need to switch between ascending and descending.

I needed to compare two Drives, both USB's. I recently got a new USB and wanted to Copy all my files over to the new USB. I did so with Copy Paste, because I thought it would be safer than FreeFileSync.

I had some corruption when I started using FFS, so thought I would play it safe with Copy Paste. I don't really know if FFS caused the corruption, but that is all I could think of that I'd changed. I thought the Copy Paste would be okay, but now realize I should have used FFS!!! That program is very nice, and I've donated to them recently because I like it so much.

In the end, I did open FFS and corrected some files skipped by Copy Paste! And, used Megahertz07 command to see how many bytes were reported at the end, and they matched. Luckily I saw the Folders that were missing, they are important. All very stressful to me as they are of course all important. I hate Change! I didn't want to move all my files to a new drive, and knew it would result in some kind of drama. Now need to change my Syncing setup from a Linux Program to FFS...O-Boy? hope is goes smoothly.

There are many fake USB flash disks on the market, specially on ebay.
They are modified to show low space drives as big space drives
When I buy a USB flash disk i test it with h2testw. It writes into the drive small test files and then read them.
It can take a lonnnng time depending the size and the speed of the USB flash disk.
