Shortcuts that are managed by GPO disappear in All Programs in Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.

Symptoms:
Assume that you have a Group Policy Object (GPO) that copies .lnk shortcut files to the following location:

C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\

When this issue occurs, the explorer.exe process does not show the shortcuts in the All Programs list under the Start menu.

Note The issue does not occur immediately when you log on to the computer. It occurs during the regular usage.

Cause:
This issue occurs because there is a race condition in the explorer.exe process that makes the explorer.exe process handle notifications in an incorrect order on the system. Specifically, the explorer.exe process creates, and then deletes the .lnk shortcut files. The correct order should be deleting, and then creating the files. Therefore, the shortcuts are not created.

When a file server is running Windows Server 2008 R2, a memory leak in nonpaged pool memory may occur. This problem occurs when the server is under heavy load and continues to occur until it stops responding and pool memory is exhausted.

Cause:
This problem occurs because of a race condition in the SMB server.

Symptoms:
This issue occurs if you log off a computer and then log on to it again after several minutes.

Note The scan job works successfully before you log off the computer.

Cause:
This issue occurs because the Microsoft Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service cannot restart automatically when you log on to the computer again. After several minutes that you log off the computer, the Shell Hardware Detection (ShellHW) service stops. Therefore, the WIA service that depends on the ShellHW service also stops. However, when the ShellHW service restarts after you log on to the computer again, the WIA service does not restart.

Symptoms
This issue only occurs if you first install AD LDS OOB on a computer that is running Windows 7 RTM and then install service pack 1 for Windows 7. In this situation, when you try to install update 2853587 the update cannot be applied, and you receive the error message.

Cause:
This issue occurs because update 2853587 is parented on the RTM version of the Microsoft-Windows-DirectoryServices-ADAM-Package-Client package that only presents when AD LDS OOB is installed. However, after SP1 is applied, the version of the package is increased. Therefore, update 2853587 cannot be applied.

Symptoms:
Assume that a user logs on to Windows Server 2008 R2 with remote desktop connection from a computer that is running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, and then opens Devices and Printers. In this situation, the user can see the printers of all the other users even though the permissions are set correctly for only the owner to access the printer.

Cause:
This issue occurs because the printer cache does not update details of the spool directory changes that are made to every printer. This makes the printers continuously to be shown to all logged-on users even though the users might not have the access to the printer.

The parameters in the error messages vary, depending on the configuration of the computer.
Not all "0x00000027" or "0x00000050" Stop errors are caused by this problem.

This is rather a Fix-It solution than a hotfix provided by Microsoft using a .vbs script. Could be useful for those that have istalled from DVD/ISO media Windows 7 SP1.

I remember seeing those errors in the events viewer, not caring too much has it said "Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected" (thought there was no hurry).

It has fixed three errors in event IDs on my actual machine and i have used the Workaround.vbs script instead of the ready Fix-It solution, which the first have displayed the errors fixed.

Event ID 10 is logged in the Application log after you install Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

Symptoms:
After you install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) using integrated media, you may see the following WMI error is logged in the application log after every reboot:

EventID - 10

Level - Error

User - N/A

OpCode - Info

Task Cat - None

Keywords - Classic

Details - Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

Cause:
This originated in the Windows 7 SP1 DVD/ISO creation process. There was an issue in the creation process that caused a WMI registration to remain in the DVD/ISO. Since the registration is designed to work only during the DVD/ISO creation process, it fails to run on a live system and causes these events. These events are not indicative of any issue in the system and can be safely ignored. If however you want to prevent these events from getting generated and want to remove this specific WMI registration manually, please follow the steps mentioned in this article for running the workaround script.

More Information:
This particular Event ID 10 error message listed above can be safely ignored, this is not indicative of a problem with the Service Pack or with the operating system.
