TuneUp Utilities (2009) works partially on build 6956 : Speed Optimizer and other components have no problem but the Registry Cleaner delete all my desktop and taskbar settings :( (No icon, no background etc...)

Oops...
I realized it was not TuneUp which create the problem, but a bad loading of Windows Explorer :confused:. Just log off and log on again to solve it.

Drivermax in the 7000 build shows some of my drivers as scrambled letters and symbols. I guess it doesn't recognize them.

Moved - Windows Seven: Program Compatibility

When Windows Vista came into the picture early last year the first bunch of complaints that people came up with was compatibility issues. CD Authoring Tools, Graphics Programs, Drivers, Printers, Web Cmas, Messenger Programs . . . the whole thing went into a tizzy with compatibility problems.
Having done my Seven installation and setup, time now for an app test. Installed, tested and verified working are the following:
Norton Internet Security 2009 (Trial)
iTunes
Adobe Flash Player
Adobe Reader 9
Audacity
Skype
Mozilla Firefox
Microsoft Office 2003
Virtual Dub
SpyBot Search And Destroy
What is noticed about installation in Windows Seven:
Installation speed for all the above mentioned applications was fast. Microsoft Office 2003 being the slowest. I had to install it from a disc and the extra tad of time was taken in staging the installation files to a local store. When you install applications from the local drive or from an USB Flash storage device, the installation speed is much faster. The surprising one out of all was Norton. Traditionally a slow installation, it went through in less then 4 minutes (not counting the system scan). I’ll be trying more stuff as time passes and will keep updating stuff out here.
In cases where the installed application was not compatible, the operating system response was similar to Vista. Users have the options to send the information to Microsoft and to retry the installation with recommended compatibility settings.
User Account Control In Windows Seven:
With redesigned U.A.C in Windows Seven, applications installation has not changed much. What you notice as a change is Windows built in applications do not require U.A.C grants. For example, TaskManager (All User Mode) Device manager, Disk Management, Services and a host of other control panels and windows apps load directly without U.A.C prompting you to gran access. However non-native applications continue to hav U.A.C. prompts. This behavior can be controlled even better in Windows Seven. Instead of the plain vanilla on / off modes that U.A.C support in Vista, Windows Seven has an improved U.A.C control panel, that allows you to adjust your U.A.C needs . . . .
