Hi, I'm new to the forums so I don't know if this has been addressed yet or not.

I'm trying to find a way to stop Windows Explorer from shifting the columns when I click on a file that is on the right side and is partially hidden. I would like to keep it from moving if just a second so when I double click it just opens the file.

Thanks

Never heard of a way to change that.
You might try out Small icons or Details view.
But I still like List view - my workaround is to change Double-click into Single-click in Folder options > General tab. Then it doesn't matter if the columns want to jump around. Also it's half as much RSI on your click-finger. The only disadvantage I've found is with renaming, where the old habit of click, pause, click has to be changed. But the F2 key is useful with that.
